Our Story
Rooted in
Kaali was born from the women in our community who couldn't find themselves in the options available to them.
We watched friends navigate hair loss, from alopecia, from cancer, from years of damage, and come up against the same wall every time. The wigs available weren't made for South Asian women. The textures didn't match. The fits weren't built for their features. The experts didn't understand their hair.
So we decided to become the option we wished had existed.

The hands behind every wig.
Every Kaali wig is made by one pair of hands. Goldien's.
She is Joycelyn's mother. She is the reason Kaali exists.
Goldien spent decades in fashion design. She understood fabric, structure, and the way something handmade carries a different kind of feeling than something produced. When Joycelyn told her about the women she kept meeting, women losing their hair to cancer, to alopecia, to years of damage, women who couldn't find a wig that felt like them, Goldien didn't hesitate. She learned to make wigs. Not because it was easy. Because someone had to.
There is no factory. There is no production line. Every Kaali wig is made by hand, by people who chose this work because they understand what it means to the woman who receives it.
That is what you are wearing when you wear Kaali.
